On Tuesday, June 13, MOAS partnered with Paint Nite Daytona Beach for the second Cocktails & Creations event, this time, at the Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art. The theme of this social event was Florida art and attendees were taught how to paint a beach themed painting on 17x20 wood panels.

As guests arrived, they were encouraged to walk around the Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of art to get inspiration for their Florida themed painting. We teamed up with Copper Bottom Craft Distillery to mix up some signature Florida cocktails including a Blackberry Mojito and a Copper Bottom Summer Sangria.

After touring the Museum, everyone made their way into the painting area tapping their feet to the sound of Florida summer tunes, like Jimmy Buffet. Each seat contained leis and straw hats to add to the tropical Florida theme. Paint Nite instructor, Johnny Yarbrough, led an entertaining class through the first half of the painting before encouraging everyone to stand up and stretch and of course, give away some great raffle prizes. By competing in games like Categories and of course Karaoke, participants could win raffle prizes like Paint Nite vouchers and gift cards!

“The museum is about sharing art, and I love sharing how to make art. This event was a perfect mix of both where even if you had never painted you could still have fun and enjoy a new appreciation for painting, with music and drinks.” – Johnny Yarbrough (Paint Nite Instructor)

Attendees then finished their paintings in hopes of earning their Florida themed masterpiece a spot on the gallery wall in the Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art and ended the night by taking creative photos in the Paint Nite photo booth. We are looking forward to our next Cocktails & Creations event in October!
