Event Description

Join Senior Curator of Education and History, James "Zach" Zacharias, along with head docent, Marian Whelton, and discover the Museum's large collection of important African artifacts from the Congo, Kenya, and the Sub-Saharan countries. Although Western culture calls these masks and sculptures art, the African people who made them did not. Learn about the history, culture, and stories behind these amazing objects that are part of African ritual, everyday life, and status of the people who used them.
