Science Night!

"Field Trip to the Moon"

Homeschoolers, we would love to have you join us for a great night.

The night starts off with a planetarium program to gaze at the stars. Then to the kid's wing for PIZZA! While digesting, it is off to the Root Auditorium for a simulated field trip stage show titled "Field Trip to the Moon." The show is full of the latest information on NASA's program to return to the moon. It even uses computer graphics developed by NASA! The night is concluded with the really cool movie "Space Camp" rated: PG- mild profanity in the begining of the movie

"Space Camp"

They came to Space Camp with the dream of becoming astronauts. Suddenly...Without warning...Before they were ready...They were launched into space

The MOAS approach to Homeschooling

Whether you are an Unschooling or Homeschooling family we hope you consider allowing the Homeschool programs at the MOAS to support your efforts. Our approach to a lesson is always to encourage interaction and team work among the participants. The students will enjoy the intermingling of humor and content as they make their way through a lesson. Lessons are typically very active, and the venue may change a few times during the same lesson. This is to utilize the many facilities that the Museum has to offer. Students are often given take home resources and suggestions for further information on the topic. These are great as the Homeschooler's portfolio builds all year long.

The classes are taught by the Curator of Science and certified teacher, Jeremy Blinn "Mr. J". He has over ten years experience teaching a comprehensive science curriculum and has many tricks up his lab coat sleeve.
