The Museum of Arts and Sciences in Daytona Beach is searching for a well-qualified Curator of Art who demonstrates flexibility, has significant art history knowledge, possesses entrepreneurial attitude and has pent-up creativity ready to be unleashed on exhibition design.
This position reports to the Chief Curator. It is a highly visible position that requires enthusiasm and flexibility at the same time as scholarly excellence is being balanced with entrepreneurial attitude. A can do attitude and team playing orientation are required.
Primary Responsibilities
Areas of responsibility include all aspects of art-oriented exhibitions, budgeting within the art department, programming, art collections, writing for the museum’s magazine and other publications, coordinating exhibits and schedules with other departments to maximize their benefit to the region.
Qualifications
Superior computer skills, BA/BH/BS required with Masters Degree preferred, second European language preferred, ability to manage own schedule with evening and weekend hours as is required to get any job done. A keen sense of interest and background in Florida art is important.
