Event Description

Florida's Mega Mansions

Join Senior Curator of Education and History, Zach Zacharias, and take a tour around the state and visit the grand historic mega-mansions that tell the tale of their era. From Flagler's White Hall and James Deering Viscaya to John B. Stetson's home in DeLand, these homes showcase exotic architecture and opulence of America's Gilded Age playground.

Flagler County, Florida: A Centennial History with Historian, Randy Jaye

Features an American county's 100-year journey from a sparsely populated, rural, agricultural, timbering, and coastal area to recently establishing the largest planned community in the State of Florida's history. Similar to most localities that have survived for more than a century much has happened over that duration of time. But, dissimilar to most localities the history of Flagler County remains virtually unknown except to only a few devoted local historians and some of its longtime and lifelong residents. You are invited to explore a journey through the history of Flagler County and discover its many interesting places, where you will encounter some unique and fascinating stories and then wonder how many of them could have remained so reclusive until now.

Free for members, $7.00 for future members.
