VIRTUAL LECTURE: The Search for Life on Mars: The Perseverance Rover

Date:
10/21/2020 at 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Event Description

Join MOAS Curator of Astronomy, Seth Mayo for a virtual chat on Zoom. NASA’s Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover was recently launched from Cape Canaveral and is now on its way to the red planet Mars. We will discuss how this sophisticated rover will look for past signs of ancient microbial life within a dried upriver delta in the Jezero Crater. The mission is also carrying a small helicopter drone named Ingenuity to be flown on Mars, that will hopefully become the first powered aircraft to fly on another planet.
