The January 2023 Wine Tasting is SOLD OUT. 

Join us at the Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art for our wine tasting series with S.R. Perrott. Spend the evening among friends while you sip up knowledge on swirling, tasting, and describing wine while learning about different pairings of light appetizers from Ravish Catering. This month’s program will be featuring Villa and Napa Andretti wines presented by Rico Chelini, the premier winemaker from Andretti Winery in Napa Valley, and Jeffery Valerio, Andretti National Sales Director.

This event is for ages 21 and older.

Rico Chelini - Winemaker

Born and raised in St. Helena, in the heart of the Napa Valley, Rico developed a passion for grape growing and winemaking at a young age.  After growing up on the ranch where his dad has been the winemaker for over 40 years, following his dad around the vineyards, it was an easy decision for him to pursue a career in winemaking. With a solid foundation of winemaking knowledge and a thirst to learn more, he took to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where he earned degrees in both Wine and Viticulture and Agriculture Business. During his studies Rico interned at Linne Calodo Cellars, a small boutique winery in Paso Robles, then later became the Cellar Master. Helping make beautiful Rhone derived wines and Zinfandels, this is where he began to really learn what it takes to make the best wine possible. After three years at Linne Calodo, Rico decided it was time to take his winemaking knowledge and experience back to his roots and packed up for Napa Valley where he met up with legendary winemaker Bob Pepi. Having very similar winemaking palates and philosophies it was a perfect fit. Rico worked with Bob from 2008 to 2016 where they made wine and consulted for several different wineries, most significantly Andretti Winery. Working with numerous grape varieties from some of the most sought after Napa Valley appellations allowed Rico to build upon his repertoire and really hone his winemaking skills. When Bob Pepi retired as winemaker in 2016, Rico was the perfect fit to come in and help carry on the tradition of fine winemaking at Andretti Winery and is thrilled to be part of the Andretti team.
