Artemis Rising: A National Moon Day Celebration

Date:
7/17/2026 at 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Event Description

Join the Lohman Planetarium for an evening of lunar exploration as we celebrate National Moon Day and humanity’s historic journey to the Moon. Commemorating the legacy of the Apollo 11 mission, when humans first set foot on the lunar surface in 1969, this special event also looks ahead to the future of space exploration through NASA’s Artemis program.

At 7:00 PM, experience Artemis: To the Moon!, an immersive planetarium show exploring the next era of lunar exploration, highlighting the incredible journey of Artemis II.
Then at 8:00 PM, join the planetarium team in our courtyard for telescope viewing of the waxing crescent Moon (weather permitting).

It’s a night sure to bring out the “Moon Joy” in explorers of all ages!
