Join Senior Curator of History, Zach Zacharias in Root Hall to learn about the history and culture of the Cuban people through its art dating back from 1600s to 1959. The Museum's collection shows us a diverse collection of art heavily influenced by European art standards. An early European school of art set up in Havana in the early 1700s set the standards. Magnificent art of landscapes, portraits, still-life, and furniture make this an eye-opening talk about the one-time cultural center of Latin America. The Museum houses the largest collection of Cuban art in the world outside of the island of Cuba. Light Cuban pastries and Cuban coffee are included.
