The fictional Rawlerson family has been in Florida's cattle industry for several generations. In 2004, family members are divided over how they should adapt from Florida's past to an inevitable future. The wise old Native American Solomon encourages the earnest young cattleman Bodie Rawlerson to protect his family's way of life, but that goal proves to be impossible.
